Jerry Johnson is the President of Space Advisors/KW Commercial, focusing on tenant, buyer and investor representation in San Diego, California. With over 23 years of industry experience, Jerry has secured more than 700 lease transactions and 125+ sales, resulting in a brokerage volume in excess of $943 million.
Prior to forming Space Advisors, Jerry worked in San Diego focusing on tenant representation services with Newmark Knight Frank, Coldwell Banker Commercial and Sperry Van Ness focusing on the expansion of these firms office division client base.
His career began with Colliers Dickenson in Jacksonville, Florida, initiating the firm's leasing division in addition to conducting site selection for national clients. During this period he consummated several large transactions of retail sites in multiple markets for the Food Lion grocery chain and office leases to Fortune 500 companies including Equifax, GEICO Insurance, Siemens, Energy & Automation and Pitney Bowes. At Colliers Dickenson he was the "Rookie of the Year" and "Largest Lease Transaction of the Year" awards.
After five years in the brokerage, Jerry became Leasing Director at national office park developer Koger Properties. Upon hire he was the youngest management team member in the corporation. During his tenure at Koger Properties, Jerry successfully represented multiple office parks with over two million square feet of space. Through strategic effort Jerry successfully increased the occupancy factor from 56 percent to 92 percent during the first 18 months of employment.
Jerry earned a bachelors degree in Real Estate and Urban Planning from the University of North Florida. Currently Jerry has membership in the University of San Diego Real Estate Institute and serves on the University of California San Diego business start up advisory board. As an active member of the San Diego community he currently serves on the Board of Directors at the Boys & Girls Club of Carlsbad. He is a recipient of numerous awards for involvement with the Chamber of Commerce, American Red Cross, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Arthritis Foundation and Jaycees.
